Talking to Angel
You’ve got something in your pocket
A small knife, and some lint
Swam out far enough to watch you grow
There is always a reason
You’re going to find it, you’re going feel something
And I don’t have to be your love
This time, you’re moving through it
You’ve found a way out and you’re going to keep it close
This time you’re clean, between, and you’ll
Be sparkling even through the chaos
Float into the room, mean it,
I mean it, I think you’re onto something
A chariot, a cherry, sweet, round, and heavy
Nailed in whole wood, rounded belly
Water, water, dripping, swollen
Love it always
Light it, light it
Love it always
A chariot, a cherry, sweet, round, and heavy
Nailed in whole wood, rounded belly
Water, water, dripping, swollen
Love it always
Light it, light it,
Water always

So delighted that Angel is finding that "hard won acceptance" that she sought and hope that her future path is one of authenticity. This work is one marked by melodious but not overwrought emotion, striking an intuitive balance of warmth and skill. hailhumanists
Dirtbag Transformation: "What is this?" was my first reaction. But what an amazing song. It reminds me a bit of the Pixies in how it pulls together dissonance and then resolves. malfunction54
Even better the original. The fuzzy guitars create this warm, enveloping wall of sound that makes this classic a lot richer than Sheryl Crow's version. Allison's stout-hearted vocals, tinged with a subtle shade of blue, deliver some of the most resolute, optimistic lyrics in pop music with finesse and nostalgia. purelyanecdotal
